Dad's Day In Austin

Father's Day is just around the corner. Here are some great ways to celebrate the dad in your life on that special day--June 16th to be exact. 
Here are a few ways to treat dad revolving around food and drink. 

  • Desert Door sotol distillery is hosting a party with Salt Lick barbecue, live music, and complimentary hat shaping. The event is free, though barbecue can be bought in advance. (211 Darden Hill Road, Driftwood)
  • Butcher shop and restaurant Salt & Time has plenty of dry-aged steaks available for purchase and free dessert for dads dining in on Father’s Day. (1912 East 7th Street, East Sixth)
  • Texas beer bar Craft Pride is throwing a Father’s Day lager celebration, which includes a dad joke competition judged by beer industry dads and live music. (61 Rainey Street, Rainey)
  • Gorgeous east side restaurant Rosewood is offering a flight of six whiskeys and wagyu ribeye for $100. Seatings are at 6 and 8 p.m. and are limited to ten slots per seating.(1209 Rosewood Avenue, Central East Austin)
  • The Second Bar + Kitchen at the Domain Northside has a special Father’s Day menu with whiskey pairings, including a 16-ounce ribeye. It’s served from Friday, June 14 through Sunday, June 16. (3121 Palm Way, Domain)
  • Meanwhile, the downtown location of Second Bar + Kitchen will have a burger and beer special for $9. (200 Congress Avenue, Downtown)
  • Sour specialists Blue Owl Brewing is offering a free tasting for dads. (2400 East Cesar Chavez, Holly)
  • The Linc location of bakery Easy Tiger is hosting a few brunch and dinner specials. There are steak and eggs in the morning and steak with chimichurri after 3 p.m. (6406 N Interstate 35 Frontage Road, Linc)
  • Wine bar Cru has brunch and dinner prix fixe specials. Brunch is three courses for $26 (plus mimosas and bellinis for $3) and filet mignon dinner for two, with a bottle of wine, is $120. (238 West 2nd Street, Downtown; 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Domain)
  • Geraldine’s, atop the hip Hotel Van Zandt, is offering a menu of specials on Friday, June 14 with bourbon pairings, including cornbread, chicharrons, and steak. There will also be live music. (605 Davis Street, Rainey)
  • Bakery Lorraine will offer tobacco bourbon macarons during Father’s Day weekend. (11600 Rock Rose Avenue, Domain)
  • Both locations of brunch specialists Snooze have specials for the day: a pancake topped with bacon jam and bourbon butter and “The Dad Abides” cocktail with bourbon and coffee, garnished with bacon. (1700 South Lamar Blvd #301, South Lamar; 3800 North Lamar, Rosedale)
  • Southern restaurant Olamaie is offering its holiday box of biscuits, which includes pimento cheese, homemade peach jam, and honey butter for preorder. Boxes are $40 for 6 biscuits or $55 for 12. The last day to order is Wednesday, June 12, and the biscuits can be picked up anytime between Friday, June 14, through Sunday, June 16. (1610 San Antonio Street, Downtown)
  • Carpenters Hall in the Carpenter Hotel has specials for brunch and dinner, including a beef sandwich with comté, chicken parmesan wings, and two salads. (400 Josephine Street, Zilker)
